'Love' emerged as Alexandra Mas, alongside her muse Elton Ilirjany, created a performative action painting at Art Miami 2023. This powerful, spontaneous expression encapsulated the essence of Mas’s abstract expressionist works, where intimate, raw emotions are revealed, resonating deeply with her collectors and audience.
Mas's art delves into the exploration of structure, material, and the interplay between human and interstellar dynamics, offering an escape from the turbulence of daily life. This work can be linked to both the Protto Matter and Be the Change series. Mas leads us into a vibrational world, where she transcends the boundaries of traditional figuration and symbolism. Her approach, rooted in gestural painting and automatism, embraces uncertainty as an integral part of the creative process. Every stroke is spontaneous, random and ancored in the present moment.

The abstract expressionist works of Alexandra Mas are deeply intimate, rarely showcased in the traditional gallery setting but resonating powerfully with her collectors following her artistic performances. Her art delves into the exploration of structure and matter, while incorporating stellar and interstellar dynamics. These elements act as a form of detachment from the turbulence of everyday life.
Through her Proto-Matter and Be the Change series, Mas takes us into a vibrational world, transcending the boundaries of traditional figuration and symbolism. Her approach relies on gestural painting and automatism, embracing uncertainty as an integral part of the creative process. Each stroke on the canvas is spontaneous, accepting randomness and the potential of the present moment. This is most vividly expressed in her live performances: her body, moving in harmony with the canvas, merges with the creative process, embodying an artistic expression that is almost choreographic.
These performances reveal a true emotional architecture, where raw matter engages in dialogue with space and time. Mas’s work, both instinctive and contemplative, touches on the essential, creating an experience where the viewer is invited to feel the energy flowing through the artist and her creation.

Hélène FARNAULT
étudie les Lettres et la Sémiologie puis la Psychologie clinique et pathologique ainsi que la psychanalyse. Professeure à l’Éducation Nationale et dans l’enseignement privé supérieur puis chargée de communication, elle intègre, en 1996, le Ministère de la Culture et de la Communication où, durant plus de treize ans, elle est responsable du dispositif des Maîtres d’Art, veillant à la transmission de leurs savoir-faire, à la pérennité de leurs métiers et des ateliers souvent précarisés, à leur ouverture sur les nouvelles technologies et les matériaux innovants. Elle a multiplié les partenariats entre artisans d’art, artistes, designers, architectes, chercheurs… Dans ce cadre, elle a participé à de nombreuses publications pour ensuite se consacrer à ses propres livres.
Admiratrice enthousiaste des métiers d’art, elle continue de les promouvoir, de faire connaître les savoir-faire français tant en France qu’à l’étranger en écrivant des ouvrages, en organisant des expositions, en participant à des conférences.

Hélène FARNAULT
She studied Literature and Semiotics, followed by Clinical and Pathological Psychology, as well as psychoanalysis. A professor in the National Education system and private higher education, then a communication officer, she joined the Ministry of Culture and Communication in 1996. For over thirteen years, she was responsible for the Masters of Art program, ensuring the transmission of their expertise, the sustainability of their professions, and the often precarious workshops, while fostering their adaptation to new technologies and innovative materials. She forged numerous partnerships between artisans, artists, designers, architects, and researchers. In this context, she contributed to numerous publications before dedicating herself to her own books.
As an enthusiastic admirer of artisan crafts, she continues to promote and showcase French expertise both in France and internationally through writing, organizing exhibitions, and participating in conferences.
